Posting Photos on the Web - PicasaWeb

Need I say more? I've tried a number of ways to post photos on the web, but I think I cast my vote for PicasaWeb due to quality and ease of use. Here's a link to our family's pics:

Shan and Sheen

Shehreen is the only one who seems to thrive on wearing traditional Chinese style clothes and even then, her agreeing to wear such an outfit is a rare occasion. Normally, Shanzay is the one who seems to have the highest ratio of Chinese genetic matter, but this time, Shehreen has outdone Shanzay. Posted by Picasa

Mom and Dad, We Can't Wait to See You :)

Finally, after approximately three months in Connecticut, I am heading to Beijing, where Mom and Dad reside. Just the thought of spending quiet mornings and serene evenings with then infuses me with harmonious joy. Ok ... there's a part of me, namely my stomach, that is doing flips at the thought of having a chance to sit down at a table laden with home-cooked food :) Hopefully, the girls and Hassan will join me in Beijing within another week or two ... the girls are going to be thrilled to see their Laolao and Laoye, if the expressions on their faces on this pic when Mom last visited us in Lahore is any indication :) Thanks to Chris, I discovered Google Earth today ... am going to sign off and see if I can see a satellite image of our house in Lahore ....

Family Vacation on Block Island

Years and years of experience as a materials engineer have finally come to fruition ... as project lead for the SSS HexaCastle on Block Island, look at what me and my team of 2.5 experts built in as many hours ... almost 7 kid-hours of work. Block Island was supposed to be a 'day' trip for us, but we ended up loving the laid back beach and the charming town so much, we opted for an impromptu stay at the National Hotel not far from the beach. Bless Charles N. for giving us this recommendation ... I took the elder two for a windy bike-and-trailer ride along the coast in search of Block Island's famous lighthouse, but my legs gave out on what seemed like 60 degree inclines (in reality this estimate is at least an order of magnitude off) before we could reach it.
